Getting Started

The Tax ID Management plugin lets customers and administrators store, validate, and manage tax identification numbers such as EU VAT, GB VAT, Swiss UID, or custom project-specific IDs.

Core Concepts

• Tax ID: A channel-aware record linked to a customer or company, with type, number, country code, default flag, and validation status.
• Validation strategy: A pluggable strategy that validates tax IDs by type. The default strategy is a no-op placeholder.
• Tax exemption strategy: Optional logic that can apply tax exemption for valid tax IDs by wrapping Vendure's tax-line calculation strategy.
• Order snapshot: When an order moves to ArrangingPayment, the customer's default tax ID is snapshotted onto the order for audit purposes.
